About Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes

Located at 1100 N Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes operates as a thai restaurant serving Los Angeles in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Los Angeles, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 9 am–4 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (323) 632-2071. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, maetingscoconutcakesgo.site.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 47 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded thai restaurants in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Traffic in Los Angeles peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I was there around 9:05 but the lady said that the cake would be ready in 25 minutes cos they just opened. Okay, so I waited. Then I got the cakes, but it doesn’t taste as delicious as I thought. I feel a little bit disappointed ☹️

We came on a Sunday, it is somewhat busy. The location has a few small Thai stands. We ordered the mango sticky rice coconut cakes and green onion coconut cakes. They are $10 ( each has around 8 pieces ). The coconut cakes are sweet , creamy and flavorful, they made it right in front of you so they come out warm. The mango is sweet and not sour so we are satisfied. Remember to bring cash cause they accept cash & zelle. After they take your order, they give you a ticket and they make your food. You just need to bring that ticket to get your food. The wait is around 25 minutes for the food, and there are 3 long tables next to the stand so you can eat there. We walk around the Thai grocery store across the coconut cake stand when waiting for food. It is a nice place to experience some Thai coconut cakes! Would recommend this place.

It says cash only, but they do accept Zelle payments! Super hole in the wall place with delicious coconut cakes, I've tried the regular ones and the mango sticky rice ones and they're so yummy! They have other types and there's BBQ skewers as well, though I haven't tried them.

Mai’s Coconut Cakes is a few tents on the side of the Thai supermarket. They have a free parking lot that was pretty empty when we went around Sunday noon. It’s cash only and they serve amazing Thai bbq, fried coconut cakes, fried fish balls, sticky rice, and more. We ordered the the bbq pork and chicken, coconut cakes, and fried yellowtail, which was deep fried fish paste. All of it was very tasty and the portions were sizable, good for two or three people. Their hours are very specific so double check before you go. They also had a cat chillin around.

I’ve been here a few times and it never disappoints! The coconut cakes are chewy and not too sweet. Usually takes them 10-20 minutes to make them for you. Also in the same stand, there’s a BBQ stand with really tasty grilled meats, and a stand that sells tom yum noodles, fried foods, and thai desserts. Make sure you go to an ATM before coming because they’re cash only. They’re only open on weekends.
